Since 2023, I am a post doc at Adaptation Physiology group, Wageningen University and Research (WUR). Before the post doc, I did a PhD at the Laboratory of Plant Physiology (WUR). During the PhD, I studied how light quality influences the tomato metabolome and how these changes affect plant-insect interactions. I loved the metabolomics works and wanted to deepen my knowledge further. My work as a post doc has metabolomics component in it, but also adds a new component: the microbiome. I am trying to understand how Eimeria infection affect the gut microbiome and metabolic output of broiler chickens. Thus, I am correlating the microbiome, metabolome, and volatilome to understand the underlying mechanisms on why there are differences in smell between healthy and Eimeria-infected chickens.
