Cofunding partners

This project brings together a diverse consortium of partners with expertise spanning the entire knowledge and innovation chain.

To explore the link between animal health and volatile biomarkers, scientific experts from Utrecht University and Wageningen University & Research collaborate closely with poultry sector partners such as Van Eck, GVP-Emmen, Springmountain, De Heus, WVPA, KNMvD, Royal GD, and Connecting Agri & Food.

Our non-academic partners contribute extensive networks of customers and associates who are highly engaged with the project’s outcomes. Sample analysis is led by Radboud University, who will also help establish a benchmark (‘golden standard’) and support advanced data analysis.

The development of the sensor system involves a multidisciplinary team of scientists from Delft University of TechnologIy, University of Twente, Saxion University of Applied Sciences, The Hague University of Applied Sciences, Wageningen University & Research, and Fontys University of Applied Sciences, in close collaboration with innovative industrial partners including NXP, LioniX International, VSParticle, Bronkhorst High-Tech, Applied Nanolayers, and QL Polymers.

For the interpretation of sensor data and its correlation to animal health status, data science expertise is provided by Radboud University, Saxion University of Applied Sciences, and The Hague University of Applied Sciences, working alongside VAA Data Works, a company specialized in agricultural data systems and digital decision support for farmers.

Technology adoption and user acceptance will be studied by Wageningen University & Research, in close cooperation with poultry sector partners who will help engage end users. In parallel, the University of Twente will focus on stakeholder engagement through citizen science initiatives.
